PPP Flexibility Act Brings Important Changes to the Paycheck Protection Program

Small businesses struggling to remain afloat during the economic upheaval caused by the coronavirus pandemic received some relief with the passing of the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) as part of the historic CARES Act. The program provides eligible businesses with unsecured loans to help them cover payroll, rent and other ongoing business expenses, with the possibility of partial or complete loan forgiveness.

Washington County MN Offering Relief Grants to Small Business Owners

Washington County is opening applications for financial assistance for businesses in the county that have been negatively impacted through additional expenses or lost revenue due to closures during the response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Washington County Small Business Relief Fund, provided by the federal CARES Act, will provide grants of up to $15,000 to small businesses in need of support. Applications will be accepted between August 10 and August 24, 2020. Applicants will be notified if they are eligible for a grant on or before August 31, 2020. Applications will be managed by Tyler Hilsabeck, Open to Business - Business Advisor, at the Washington County Community Development Agency, 7645 Currell Blvd., Woodbury, MN 55125.
